The parents of Kenny Pohlman sat down with News 12's Antoinette Biordi to share their story and call for justice in his death.
Pohlman and girlfriend Kelly Coppola were shot to death in St. James. Coppola's ex-husband, Daniel Coppola, has been charged in their slayings.
Kenny's parents, Kenneth Sr. and Dee Pohlman, say they were happy knowing that their son had finally found his perfect match.
They say Kenny Pohlman Jr. and Kelly Coppola were madly in love.
The Pohlman's say when Kenny met Kelly, who was divorced from Daniel Coppola, they were both ready to start over.
They say they were becoming a new blended family - with Kenny's three children and Kelly's daughter, Gianna.
"They brought the best out in each other," says Pohlman Sr.
But on Aug. 28, police say Kelly's ex-husband Daniel Coppola fatally shot them both.
"This murderer ruined more than just Kelly and Kenny's life, there are so many people that are still hurting from Kenny, not being here," says Dee Pohlman.
The Pohlman family say they are seeking justice, while still keeping Kenny and Kelly's legacy alive.
As News 12 first reported, the family has filed a civil wrongful death lawsuit against Daniel Coppola.
