A man’s body was found inside a home on Bristol Street in Lindenhurst early Sunday morning.
Investigators say the body of a man was found at 3:16 a.m. inside the home on Bristol Street.
Details into the investigation were scarce as of Sunday evening. Police also said they believe the victim didn't live at that location.
The street will remain closed until detectives complete their homicide investigation.
“It’s a quiet town. There’s normally nothing like this happening,” said Veronica Rivera.
People who live in the village are feeling uneasy.
“I’ve been living here 15 years…I’ve never heard of anything crazy like that,” said Ethan Ploth.
“It’s very sad, and I never thought anything like that would happen, especially right in our backyard,” said Olivia Heitmuller, manager of Lemon Tree hair salon.
The homicide investigation is happening just steps away from North Wellwood Avenue, which is a busy area of restaurants, bars and stores.
“We’re really an up-and-coming town. We have a lot of good people here and stuff, and we were shocked when we came into work this morning that there was something like that going on,” added Heitmuller.
As of Sunday evening, police had not released the identity of the deceased man or details on the circumstances surrounding his death. No arrests had been made.
