A windy and blustery Saturday led to a loss of power for several homes on Long Island.
Strong winds wiped out power for many residents in a neighborhood in Lindenhurst after a massive tree on North Greene Avenue was uprooted and fell.
“It knocked out power lines. We have a power line on our driveway, so we couldn’t get my wife‘s car out today because the garage won’t work either,” said Steve Katz, a neighbor.
“There’s really nothing we can do about it. We just want to be safe. The police were here earlier,” said Katz’s wife, Penny.
News 12 was told no one was hurt when the tree fell.
According to PSEG information, power had been restored to most homes as of Saturday night.
At the height of Saturday’s winds, 1,500 homes lost power.
