Massapequa High School was selected to receive one of 10 $20,000 technology grants from Optimum Business, through the company's partnership with DonorsChoose.
The school was able to purchase a CNC Router through the grant money.
The device allows students to design and fabricate precise, large-scale projects in a shorter amount of time.
"Before it took a while, now with the new device you type the information into the computer and it's ready to go," explained Jason LaRosa.
To date, the company, through its partnership with DonorsChoose, has funded more than $4.5 million in community projects.
Optimum Business is the sister company to News 12.
