One Long Beach woman creates unique charcuterie boards called CharTEACHerie Gift Boards. These are customized charcuterie boards for teachers! She makes the gift boards at home. They are filled with teaching essentials.
Romy Keper has been a speech-language pathologist for 15 years. She currently works in a school in Brooklyn. She knows the hard work educators put into their lesson plans. “Sometimes we're a little underappreciated, and it's always nice to get any recognition and support,” said Romy. “I want to be the first to mind when it comes to teacher gifts.”
Romy started CharTEACHerie in 2022. "I was making a regular charcuterie board for a coworker for her retirement party, and as I was putting in the cheese and the crackers, I thought, wouldn't this be cute if it had school supplies in it because it's for a teacher? And as I was doing it, I was like, ding!” Now, Romy makes all types of custom CharTEACHerie boards. She began making them as a distraction after she unexpectedly lost her dad, Silvio Keper, three years ago. “He used to work with his hands as a tool and die maker, and he was always on the go, making things," said Romy. "It's been a way to turn something sad into something positive that also makes others feel good at the same time.”
She makes every board custom to order. She ships her CharTEACHerie boards to teachers across Long Island and beyond, including Japan!
