Rich Genovese says when he started the Take Me Out to the Ball Game Foundation 17 years ago, they handed out five turkeys out of the trunk of his car.

Today, the nonprofit delivers over 1,000 in the days before Thanksgiving - helping out local food pantries that are trying to meet growing demand.

Genovese and his team of volunteers divided up donations Monday before heading out to various locations to make sure people in need have what they need for the holiday.

The organization delivers food multiple times a year, and also creates and funds events for kids in need, including trips to sporting events and Adventureland.
