Many Long Islanders decided to hit the beach on the Fourth of July.
Sunken Meadow, Gilgo and Orient Beach state parks filled to capacity and were closed to incoming traffic. Traffic was backed up at several other locations.
News 12’s Jon Dowding was at Jones Beach where officials say over 100,000 people showed up for the fireworks.
