A new study has found that five minutes of exercise a day can help bring down one's high blood pressure.
Researchers tracked 15,000 people who wore activity monitors and had their blood pressure checked each day.
They broke down people's daily activities into six categories: sleep, sedentary behavior, standing fast walking, slow walking and more vigorous exercise.
Researchers say their data showed that replacing sedentary time with physical activity had a direct impact on heart health and one's blood pressure reading.
Doctors say one's reading should be at or under 120 over 80.
Untreated high blood pressure can harm blood vessels and cause people to have a heart attack and stroke, along with brain function changes, and kidney and eye damage.
