Residents evacuate Melville home as car catches fire in their property

Investigators say that the vehicle caught fire in the area of Wolf Hill Road and Carmen Road.

Some Melville residents were forced to evacuate from their home after police say a car caught fire on their property early Sunday morning.
Investigators say that the vehicle caught fire in the area of Wolf Hill Road and Carmen Road.
The father and son told News 12 police rang their door bell around 4 a.m. and told them to leave the house.
One of them said they went across the street and watched the fire department put out the fire.
He said the flames from the burning car reached the power lines.
A cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
