Halloween is creeping up on us, and Americans are expected to spend roughly $11.6 billion for the holiday, according to the National Retail Federation (NRF).
That’s a bit less than last year, but more than people spent during the pandemic, according to Caleb Silver, from Investopedia.
"Candy is one of our favorite items to buy. About two-thirds of American households are planning to buy candy for the Halloween season. That translates to about $35 per person in the United States," says Silver.
People are also spending billions of dollars on costumes, cookies and other sweet treats.
