Researchers at Long Island University found that a combination of speech and physical therapy helped reverse fatigue still being experienced by people who had contracted COVID-19.
All of the participants in the school's pilot study found success.
LIU Post speech therapist Cathy Crowley says that those involved in the study were able to project their voice more and reported better endurance.
The university is now searching for more people suffering from COVID-related fatigue - both in their voice and their bodies - for a more extensive study on whether the therapies can eliminate the symptoms.
"So, the therapy is via Zoom," Crowley says. "It is eight sessions, four weeks, so twice a week. During that session, half of the time will be with physical therapy exercises, the other half with speech therapy exercises."
LIU Post is searching for dozens of people to participate in the study.
