There’s a twist on an ongoing scam that targets people who have E-ZPass.
E-ZPass says some customers are getting texts claiming to be sent by E-ZPass toll services. The texts say there's a balance you have to pay, and it asks users to click a link to avoid late fees.
E-ZPass says these texts are fake. Customers should delete the text and not click on any links from this text.
Anyone who has fallen victim to this scam should contact their bank right away and notify E-ZPass of any erroneous information posted to their accounts.
E-ZPass advises customers who receive one of these texts to file a complaint here with the IC3.
