HEADLINES:
Long Island is starting the workweek off with below average temperatures. Overnight into morning feels-like temperatures are in the teens and low-20s.
Daytime highs will slowly improve as we approach Thursday, but the nightly and early morning cold is what you need to be prepared for.
On Wednesday night, a low-pressure system from Canada is likely to bring some wet weather. A few flakes or a wintry mix is possible for areas on the North Shore Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. However, it will mainly be some rain showers through the morning commute.
As the rain ends Thursday afternoon, we dry out, but the winds and cold air settle back in. This will lead to a cold and windy Friday just ahead of the weekend.
On Saturday through Sunday, another slow roll into rebounding temperatures and dry weather.
The following week, we are keeping our eye on another weather maker that could bring rain to start the week.
