Brenden Bish, 34, of Bridgeport, is proud to be a member of the newest class of Bridgeport firefighters, all of whom were sworn in during a ceremony in Bridgeport City Council chambers Thursday night.

"I am so excited about serving my community and giving back," Bish said.

The young firefighter has an extra reason to be grateful this Thanksgiving.

"My new baby boy, Blaze, is such an incredible blessing this holiday season," Bish said.

"My soulmate, Gloria, and I are so thankful - and I'm really looking forward to serving my community," Bish said.
